Tried to fit a new belt on this condenser dryer today but could not get it to go on. The markings on the broken belt did not include the length so I tried to find the right one by holding other belts against the broken one. 1830H8 seemed the closest so I tried that. It was so tight that it crushed a flat in the drum 😯 When I got back I checked to see what belt is listed and on Masterpart it is 1810HS which is even shorter. Does the S denote “stretch”?
When I look it up on Homespares website using the part No. given by Masterpart, 421309219501 it comes up as 1810EJ3 but the broken belt is the finer pitch type. The number marked on the broken belt is 421307851961 which Homespares give as 1868H8E. I’m confused 😕

Thanks for the replies. The longer one must be for machines with tensioners. I have now fitted a Hotpoint belt, 1860H6EL and it seems plenty tight enough so perhaps the one listed is wrong.
