    New flow through heater required can I bung on any 1800w element if I doctor the connections, I assume they are all 32mm

    electrically no difference why pay more for a “genuine part” answers on a postcard

    The genuine one will fit, will have the correct connector, and is probably just as cheap as any element that you will “bung” in!

    Other an those reasons, then doctored connections would have to be electrically sound, or they would cause problems later on!
