Further update. After leaving a bottle of water in the freezer over night, when taken out the next day the water was still in liquid form so thought the freezer was still not cold enough. After a couple of minutes out on the worktop ice started to form in the bottle.
Removed the interior back plates to access the evaporator. Found ice formed at the top of the evaporator. Also found a black shroud piece had fallen off the inlet pipe where it changes sizes, marked capillary on the manual. Checked temperature fuses and heater coil and all tested ok. Took a resistance reading of the evaporator sensor and this had a resistance so assume this is ok too. By the time power had been put back onto the unit the evaporator had defrosted, however within a few minutes of power being restored frost start to form on the pipe work feeding into/out of the evaporator.
Have left the freezer on with a temp probe inside to monitor the temp, any ideas anyone?
