    Good afternoon all,

A friend called to see if I could have a look at their Kenwood fridge, whereby when switched on at the socket the display lights up for a maximum of 2 seconds, before failing.

If switched off, and then back on, the above fault recurs.

The connections to the display/control unit appear fine, and I suspect the unit.

However, I’m not a refrigeration specialist, so wonder if there may be an underlying problem, as I don’t wish to replace the display/control board if that isn’t the cause.

    Many thanks,

    jonty

Hi Jonty: I’m not a refrigeration engineer but with any fault like that, if your thinking board fault: I’d be looking for faulty electrolytic capacitors first, i.e domed tops & leakage around the bases.

Forgot to mention the often overlooked dry joints.

cant see the refrigeration side or compressor having anything to do with it .. got to be the board surely

    Good afternoon chaps,

Replaced the board on Saturday morning, and all ok. (thankfully not a wiring harness or other fault)

    Many thanks,

Glad you got it sorted & thanks for the update, maybe you can repair the old board and keep as a spare.
