    Can anyone tell me.

Is it legal or not to sell kettles that do not have an on off switch.

I have come across a stock of small kettles (about 3/4 or 1 pint size) that do not have on/off switches fitted, only with a uk standard 3 pin plug on a short flex.

This seams a bit unsafe to me 😯

The element should have it’s own safety cut-out to prevent boiling dry.

Do they not have the CE mark on them ?

Yes they do have the CE mark and they do automaticaly cut-out.

Just think it strange there is no on/off switch. If the auto cut-out was to fail (as they do sometimes) there is no way to switch it off without putting your hand near the kettle and pulling out the plug.
