ParticipantAnyone help on Bosch F/Freezer motor not running. Have checked motor & overload, there is no power to overload. Have had module tested by QER, even tried a new one. Thermistors appear foamed in. They have resistance, but I don’t know what they should read. Any help appreciated.

If it runs and gets down to temp, cuts out and won’t re-start until you switch it off at the mains and then switch it back on again it needs the thermistor by-pass modification doing. If you think that’s your problem I’ll put another post on tomorrow with how to do it. It’s a bit late to do it now.

Have a look here Guys. Search Facility is useful.

Thanks Simon, I knew I’d seen it here before but was was just going to re-write it as it was easier than searching for it.
To sum up; if it’s a 4-wire thermistor connector, cut and join wires 1 and 3 to short out the thermistor. Don’t touch 2 and 4.
If it’s a 3-wire connector, cut and join wires 1 and 2, but this must be done further back where [black] wire 1, which is a common connection to the 2 thermistors, separates out into the 2 blue wires, one going to each thermistor. You cut wire 2 [dark brown] and the blue wire that forms part of the same thermistor as wire 1 and join them thus shorting out the thermistor. You are effectively doing the same job as if it was a 4-wire connector.

ParticipantI’m sorry for being thick, but, do you join the plug leads or the thermistor leads after cutting?

ParticipantRe: KGV3120GB01 Not Running
You join the ends connected to the plug. The pcb then sees a short circuit instead of the thermistor resistance. The thermistor is then redundant; just tape up the ends of its wires.
