I know this is not White goods but hope you can help. I’m trying to remove the black flow straightener on my Kitchen Venice Monoblock swivel tap which is about15 years old. Can you confirm whether it just pulls straight out or is screwed in. I can’t move it either way. I’m soaking it in de-scaler at the moment hoping that will ease it.

    Hi

If it’s the top half then there’s normally a allan screw at the rear which needs released.

If it’s the whole tap unit then there is normally 1 10mm nut on a long threaded bar under the sing going unto the tap unit.

Actually it’s only the small black disc which I want to remove, at the open end of the tap, where the water comes out. I want to replace it with a new aerated swivel nozzle but can’t get the plastic disc out.

Then it’s either pressed in. so use a screwdriver to lever off or use a pair of long nose pliers ind insert into the outlet and turn them to twist it off.

Thanks, I’ll try both – just wasn’t sure whether to pull or twist. Can’t insert anything into outlet as it has anti-splash grid across opening.
