I’ve just been to a Zanussi FS1555W. Complaint from customer : “I think I overloaded the machine? It made a funny noise and the end light flashes, now the drum has jammed?”

I fished out a pair of black frillies from the outer drum. Now the machine will only do the spin only cycle (pumps and spins fine, switches off, no errors) Put it on any wash cycle and it pumps for a few seconds, fills for a few seconds then the end LED flashes twice (repeating) and the buzzer sounds in unison. 😕

Unfortunately the ‘Start/Pause’ LED on this machine doesn’t work so I only get the first part of the error code (i.e E2?) So I figure it’s either E21, E23 or E24…? All of which refer to either pump fault, pressure switch, heater earth fault, pump triac or finally a faulty module? I have checked out all except the module (expensive box of preconfigured diddlybobs and chips)….am I barking up the wrong tree or should I just say ‘knickers’ to it and shout BER ‘cos a new Module is funny money anyway???? 😥

Martin, I do not have TDS disk in order to know which PCB have you there (EWM1000 or 2000) 😳 … perhaps I can help you with some tricks (help even with electronic advice)… 😉

I have the TDS disk and it is an EMW1000 pre-configured PCB unit (Part No: 973914791191005). Running the diagnostics with the Start/Pause LED out tells me nothing other than either E21, E23 or E24…..?

    Hi Martin

“black frillies” ooohh! to much info :rolls:

Have you checked the pressure switch’s/ pressure hose/ chamber etc also check the heater it may have got damaged ( megger for earth fault )

Edit, re-read your post, forget the above 😳

If, before getting into spin, rotates left/right then all from motor part (wires & relays) are OK.

If inside of filling time drain pump is not working, then (ACS = alternative current switch) Triac drain pump is OK (not shorted or intrerupted).

It remain only two things from me: drain triac sensing is cut out… (is there on PCB one resistor arround 470KOhm=yellow;mov;yellow closer to those three smd ULN) or dirty PCB, contacts…

Yes I figured it was the PCB, not messing with that, another washing machine bites the dust :rolls:

    Thanks anyway guys…. 🙂

EMW will test and repair it for you – send in your board as they don’t stock exchange units of that type of PCB.

    HTH,

    Steve.
