ParticipantGreetings,
my 2000-year Kuppersbusch IGV659.1 has just stopped, after serving faithfully for nearly 6 years. I know, I should have bought a Hotpoint, but I liked the name, and the door-click really sold it to me. Did you ever shut the door of an Audi? Well you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Anyway………I can’t see any reference to Kuppersbusch on the forum, so I thought I’d fire off a new topic. 😯 . The problem is pretty basic. There is no sign of life in the appliance. I traced the 240VAC through to the switch, and out again to the main control PCB, and the 9V power supply seems to be putting out the correct DC, but nothing else works. There are some LEDs which normally light up, and a timer, but these appear to be dead. I tapped the 4 relays – still nothing. I stuck my DVM probe onto the power MOSFET, and the pump sprung into life!
My rather un-informed analysis indicates that I probably have a dead control PCB, but I value any other inputs. Either way, I talked to my usual supplier (Bristol White Goods) and they never HEARD of Kuppersbusch. 😳 I said to them that the insides look virtually identical to a Bosch that a friend of mine has, so I suspect the appliance is made under licence or something. (By the way model number IGV659.1, also has an FD number (8001) which I thought was a code for the Bosch/Neff/Seimens group).
I mailed the lovely Alison@kuppersbuschuk.co.uk, and hopefully that’s a good lead…….just thought I give you chaps the opportunity to show off your knowledge!
Cheers,
Hans

KeymasterI’m an agent for Kuppersbusch. 😉
If it is the PCB that’s goosed, which is all too likely given the info, look forward to losing the best part of £200 at least to put it right. Upmarket appliances carry a heavy toll on parts prices most often, not that many budget brands are much better on that score.
Knowing Kuppersbusch you’ll probably be waiting a while on it as well as they’re not exactly known for their speed.

ParticipantRe: Kuppersbusch does!!!!
Well am I glad I bought a Kuppersbusch!!! Get this for a success story….
I emailed the lovely Alison ( 😳 ) as directed from the website, and she put me in touch with the even lovelier Ruth 😯 . She quoted me £117.54 for the part, inc VAT and delivery. I thought about it for a few days, because it’s always difficult to know whether to commit that sort of money or just chuck the whole thing out, especially when I was not certain the control PCB was at fault.
I ordered the part over the phone yesterday 1-45, and it arrived this morning just before noon. It took me about half and hour to fit, I plugged it in, and we are now in business again! All within 24 hours!
And….. they sent a freepost envelope to return the old part, presumably for recycling purposes. Well I think thats good service, and I recommend Kuppersbusch to anyone and everyone!!
Cheers, chaps,
Hans

KeymasterWow, they don’t get parts to us that fast most often!
Glad it’s sorted though.
