Kuppersbusch igv659.4/03 Dishwasher

Been to this today customer complained that the machine would not drain.
I switched it on and the first thing it did was drain the water out.
I then checked all the usual suspects pump, flap valve, drain hose and all are clear.
I ran the machine with the side off watching the matrix and the first time it pumped out I could see it go straight over and out, the next time it got to the top of the matrix but would not go over into the drain hose.
I can see the matrix at the top is a bit cruded up. Could this be the cause or is it more likley to be a faulty drain pump.

clean the crud in matrix, also check the pipe that goes between pump and matrix, platic push fit pipe, should just pull out

Hi I looked to clean out the matrix but I cant see any way of getting into it. Pipe from pump to matrix is fine.

Its the big matrix it goes the width of the machine.
Can these be cleaned out?
