Lamona 3401. No product code and manufactured in Thailand !

This Lamona oven takes ages to cook and literally cycles on/off very quickly…literally every few seconds when up to temperature.
Customer has to have it 20-30 degrees higher and it still takes longer to cook. No obvious issues with the element fan motor. It seems free and moves easily. Often an issue with with Beko made Lamona ovens.

It’s an electronic oven not conventional switch and t/stat. No faulty codes.

No obvious issues with the door or door seal. It looks in excellent condition so I doubt it’s heat loss. It looks very new.

I was going to remove it and put a temp prob in from the back and put it near the current oven probe.
However, it’s absolutely rammed in. It’s clearly too large for the fitting. Absolutely no gap at the top. I couldn’t get it out.

I could just go and get a temperature probe but not 100 sure that’s the issue. The part is readily available which kind of hints to that being a common fault. It seems the part number is similar to a Samsung part number so there’s lots of confusion when looking for an NTC proble. Is this a Samsung oven in discuise?
Obviously I will have the issue of trying to get the oven out as well.

Anyone any experience with Lamona electronic ovens?

from what i can see its a Samsung built unit

    Thanks Dave.

I’m going to order the thermister. I’m awaiting the landlord getting back to me to. I told him I’ll hold no responsibility if damage is caused to the worktop or oven trying to get it out and back in.

    Hi All,

Back again, some oven, same issue still there after I replaced the NTC probe. Customer says it’s fine for normally ready meal cooking 15-25 mins. When she does longer time items like roasts – it still fails to maintain temperature.

I did ask the cust to check the fan motor. My thinking being after it’s heated up the bearing tighten up and it slows….just guessing but had it before.

I might have a look at the very simple pcb to see any obvious issues.

Anyone else any suggestions apart from leaving it outside for the scrappy?

I have had to replace Samsung ovens before due lack and/or price of spares….one of them was just outside warranty and no offer of help from Samsung. It’s an option I might have to put to the cust.

    TIA
