Lamona 8552 washing machine – No spin cycle ? HELP PLS

We’ve got a Lamona ( Howdens ) 8552 integrated washing machine that has just stopped short of the spin cycle.

It has drained the wash, but refuses to spin and clothes are soaking wet…………..Other programmes are fine thru the wash cycle except the spin function – we can hear the pump churning away emptying the drum, but no spin dry – can anyone advise on what the likely problem is ?

Could be Martin….would this still be the case even though the drum turns ok on the “normal” washing cycle, but not on spin ?

Have you tried it since it didn’t spin on another wash programme to see if it still tumbles?

Hi Martin

Drum no longer spins on any programme………..just the pump churns & drains the water.

Does this sound like brushes ? If so, whats the best & least cost brushes that I can get to fit if this is what it needs ?
Is it a reasonably straightforward job to refit ?

The brushes are duff as I expected. Easy enough to replace, cheap to buy via the shop here on UK Whitegoods. 😀
