This dishwasher is leaving a white cloudy dry residue over glasses etc.
Customer has never put salt in it except recently when this problem arose, and never used rinse aid ( “because she’s worried about the chemicals”). She also uses Ecover dishwasher tabs.
Now I’ve checked the regeneration valve by powering it up manually and the tube from it and all seems ok. All other functions are working ok, wash heat etc.
She adamant that it used to clean ok before without salt or rinse aid in it.
    What could be the problem?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

If the cloudiness scratches off its a water softener issue. If the cloudiness it etched into the glass then the glass has been damaged through over washing in detergent. If the cloudiness is salt then it will taste salty.

She’s been doing it wrong for years then and there’s no hope of re-educating the ‘Ecover types’ anyway. But it’s a Lamona and I suspect therein lies the problem and it’s time to dump it for a better brand! 😉
