ParticipantCame across this site when googling for information to help – it seems a great resource so I’ve signed-up. Here’s the problem…
Model: Lamona HJA 8362 compact fully integrated dishwasher.
Serial: 11-505439-07
Type: Art 9 Class 1
Other: 78105 R-59This Lamona seems to be a re-badged Beko or similar.
Ran fine for 3 years.Symptoms:
1. On the “Pre-wash No Heat” program the heater is on when it seems it should never be judging by the programs name.
2. On our normal “Economy 50-degree” cycle; during the cycle when water is drained, the next inlet of cold water makes the ‘walls’ get sucked in and there’s a loud whoosh of air being drawn in as the hot air within gets suddenly cooled.Searched, read and concluded the NTC thermistor / sensor needed replacing. Replaced it, but the Pre-wash cycle still runs with heat.

the heater is switched on by a relay on the board if that relay is short circuit it would cause a problem like this

Cheers Dave – I should’ve guessed there’d be a relay involved for high wattage like heating – I’ll have to see if it’s a readily replaceable item.

Thanks Simon46 – I’d found on another thread that the relay was on the PCB and ordered a PCB thru this site – tho’ this site goes to great lengths to dissuade people from buying PCBs (‘cos apparently 70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of those ordered aren’t really the solution) – so it’s great to have your reassurance that a PCB is appropriate in this case.

Update:
Replaced main PCB.
Success – thanks to forum, Dave & Simon.
Cold cycle runs cold, hot cycle runs hot (but not too hot anymore). -
