LAMONA HJA 8552 won’t finish cycle-delay+start button flash

I have an integrated Lamona HJA8552 Washing machine from Howdens which won’t complete a full cycle. After filling with water, and the drum starting to turn, it cuts out and both the play button and the delay button start flashing. They flash 5 times in a 15 second timescale.

The machine drains ok-we have checked the filter and pump for debris. It seems to advance further when there are no clothes in the machine, stopping at the spin stage.

Any ideas? I can’t seem to find out what the fault code might be.

thats a hoover nextra machine

error 5 is the ntc not sensing

its the little temperature sensor on the back of the drum, just over the heater

unplug it and try the wires on it, they may be broken on the connector

if its not that it will require replacing

We pulled out the temp sensor and checked connections and they seemed ok. It was covered in gunk/slime on the inside! Should it do this??

Yes they get pretty yucky after a while but wouldn’t usually cause a problem. What you really need to do is to REPLACE that sensor and that should solve the problem. 😀

Just wanted to say a big thank you! Sensor replaced and now all working again for £20.

Had the same problem.Did the same thing changed the senser.But the lights have gone out but the other symptoms are still happening.No spin or advance.Any thought on brushes’

Hi there I have a Lamona HJA8552.I looked up on sight and it advisd it could be error 3.There’s no blockage at the pump or the other hoses going to it.The pressure pump is clicking I did blow back up the tube and it clicks.I’ve changed the pump for new.It still comes up with same error. start and advance lights come on 3times in 15second intervals.It will not finish any was programme or spin. Thanks
