    Hi,

I’ve retired now but my daughter is having a new kitchen fitted and has a quote from Howdens (she lives 200 miles away in Chester). She has been quoted for Lamona washing machine 9kg (£425+vat, 3yr warrenty), induction hob (£230+vat) and slimline dishwasher (250+vat). The washing machine seems way over the top.

I would appreciate input on folks opinions concerning quality, longevity and where Lamona appliances are made these days. If you have recommendations you can give of appliances you think would better suit, that also would be appreciated. Be brutal if you wish!

Thanks for your time in anticipation.

    Laurence

Washing machines tend to be from Hoover and Dishwashers from Beko, but there are exceptions, so if you can give us model numbers, I can hopefully check. Unless offered with a large discount, they are usually overpriced compared to the OEM brand. Regular failure points on the Hoover washing machines are door handle pins that dislodge from the frame and pcb assemblies that unclip from the control panel. Regular failure points on the Beko dishwashers are vent box drain hoses that pop off and leak internally and (if the door is opened a lot) wiring that fails in the door.

I don’t have any knowledge of cooking or cooling.

As stratfordgirl said. DWs are Beko. A lot of ovens are also Beko. However, as I found out a few weeks back, some Lamona ovens are rebadged Samsung ovens. Parts expensive and can be difficult to get hold of.
