    Hi all,
Recently the top oven for our Lamona LAM4601 has stopped working. However the bottom oven is still working a-okay. I suspect it could be the top grill element and will be running the check advised with an electrical tester as soon as I’ve had the chance to buy one.

However, the strange thing is that if I turn the power off from the mains, wait a few seconds and turn it back on it seems to work again! That has really confused me!

I should also add that the top ovens element appears to be sagging down in the corners. Such that they are about an inch away from the top of the oven. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance for all the help – this forum is awesome!

cant see its an elements the way you describe it

elements dont work again when you turn off the power

if you select grill does that work ?

there seems to be a door switch so i would check that first

Good point Dave! Now whenever i try to reset it the top oven won’t work at all. I can’t even remember if the element in the top oven heats up when you put it on oven mode? My wife seems to think it did.

Would the oven door switch stop the oven from working?

Any advice on how I can diagnose the problem, or am I better off just biting the bullet and having a Lamona guy come out to fix it for £125?

the door switch is to stop the grill being used with the door closed but it wall also affect the oven
if you find the switch it should click when you press it, also the terminal should be clean and not burnt

cant do any harm to check

    Dave
