    I’ve got a Lamona LAM3301 electric oven.

The temperature light only comes on when selecting a temperature but keeping the mode selector off – if I select Oven, Grill etc the temperature light goes off.

The top cooling fan comes on straight away on any mode (this usually only comes on once the oven or grill gets hot). The rear “circulating” fan does not come on, even when selecting settings that should use the fan.

The element does not get hot. However I’ve already replaced it and the same things are happening, so I don’t think it’s the element.

(Do these symptoms point to the thermostat? )

check the contacts of the multibank switch. its not unusual for contact to burn out

thanks for that pointer – looks like one has snapped off, was just sat underneath. Would this cause the cooling fan to come on, prevent the elements from heating up AND stop the back fan working?

Also, I can’t see a way to actually remove the selector switch?

    pull knobs off

    remove front panel

    held on by 2 screws
