ParticipantHi
I have an integrated Lamona Tumble Dryer HJA 8620 and the door has become faulty and wont stay shut of its own accord. I have replaced the door catch but it doesn’t seem to want to stay shut in the latch. Can I buy a new latch and is it easy to fit? I havent seen one to purchase on any spare part sites. Any other ideas that I could try?
The dryer still works if I tape shut the door.
Thanks

Yes, probably the latch.
From memory I think it’s pretty easy to change but I don’t have access to the info on it at the moment.
Dave should be able to find it for you though, I’ll ask him to have a look for you.

The complete door latch kit is part number 19CS03 here:

It is also quite likely the door frame is damaged where the spring rests, that is here:

Thanks – I have already replaced the handle with the part you refer to below.
The door trim frame where the latch rests does not look faulty – should the latch hook into anything specific in the door frame other than the trim? It just doesnt seem to want to stay closed.

There’s a small tab on the door frame that breaks off where the spring rests, it’s a very common problem.

Its seems more a problem in the hole in the main machine where the door/catch connects too (rather than a problem in the door itself). Is this what you mean? If so, if this fixable with a spare part? I cant see anything which looks broken on the actual door.
Thanks

The only part on the machine that can break is the latch plate here:
