    Hi,

My AEG lavamat 62300 is not heating the water anymore. I checked the resistance of the heating element and it seemed ok. The temperature selector switch was also ok. During the operation there is 60 volts between each pin and ground, but 0V across the pins. Seems very strange to me, but then I don’t know much about electricity!
Any ideas what could be wrong? I was kind of hoping that the print card wasn`t at fault as I guess it`s expensive…

    Thanks,

    Kristoffer

More likely is a heat sensor or thermostat Kristoffer.

Can you check around the door for the Product code (PNC) please, it should begin with 9??????

    Kris,
Can’t get 62300 to come up on any of my systems. I can find a 6200, a 62600 and a 623D. Is this a UK machine? If you could find the PNC or ENr number it may help.

General advice with heater is that it should read 20-30 ohms when disconnected from the wires. Do this with the power off! There should be no earth leakage. Most AEG machines use a relay to switch the heater on and off. On older ones this was a separate unit, late machines have it as part of the control board. You could check for dry/burnt solder joints there.

If you’re not confident, get professional help!

    Regards,
    Penguin45.

    Electronic controlled this one.

Not an easy one to diagnose Kris really, best bet is a Penguin says, call an engineer to check for you.

Have a look at repairs@ and the directories for one near you 😀

    Dave.
