I have consulted all the really helpful forum guidance to detect the cause of this problem.
After finding puddles at the front of my fridge the first port of call was a possible blocked drain hole. I turned the fridge off and removed the back panel. The drip tray was totally iced up and gradually overflowing into the fridge. I defrosted this and ran warm water down the hole. Needless to say a week or so later it reappeared so I cleared the iced up drip tray and ran my cable tie down the drain pie to double check all was clear. It has now happened again.
As per the forum I have checked the seals and all looks good. I am now wondering why there is so much water generated behind the back panel and why doesn’t it just run down the the drain hole as its designed? Last time I removed the back panel the neoprene seals were waterlogged. I did drain and dry before I re-fitting. That could be an issue (as per the forum)? I have not heard the fan running that is fitted behind the back panel. Is it likely to be a factor and can I test it?
The manufacturers troubleshooting guide suggested raising the temp so I am at 6 degrees now and don’t fancy going higher but I will get another sensor to check the inside temperature.
I am sure its something quite simple but I’m running out of ideas so any advice is welcome and happy to answer any q’s or provide pics. The only grey are for me is a sensor type problem that I would have trouble detecting and want to avoid a big payout for what might be a 10 minute job for an engineer call out. Thanks in advance.
