ParticipantHi all,
There’s a leak from the soap draw during a wash. We took the lid off and there is water coming out of the small holes at the top as can be seen in the picture.

Is this the cause of the leak and should simply be replaced? What’s the part called? The washing machine is a Hotpoint Aquarius WMF720.
Thank you.

Have you pulled the drawer right out and given it a thorough clean inside the detergent chamber recently?
You would also need to supply full serial number and commercial code, these poorly made Indesit dispensers have been subject to many modifications due to various leaks, not all parts are interchangeable.

Thanks for the replies, here’s the sticker from the back. Hopefully has the information needed. The soap draw was thoroughly cleaned but it still leaked.

They have always been prone to leaking from the front of the drawer, can’t say I have ever seen one leak from where you indicate though.???
Hopper cover for your machine is C00283632.
As you are going to have to remove it at some point if you intend to try and change it then it might not be a bad idea to strip it down first. You can then check for any blockages on the internal tubes.

Just wanna say thanks for your help. Unfortunately it managed to leak onto electricals and shorted the machine.
What’s the best of the worst brands around the £200 mark?

some might say Beko but I couldn’t possibly comment, £200 gets you basement and rarely bargain basement at that. 🙁

I would go with that thought, 199 quid and 1200rpm, Beko a smart choice on a budget. One thing’s for sure, it will outlast that crappy Hotpoint you bought.
