ParticipantHello,
I have a Candy double quick 1500 washer /dryer had it for 4 years and no problems until now its started leaking water during the inital wash cycle when water is fed into the compartment to flush the washing powder in to the drum it leaks about 1 -2 pints of water.
I moped up the water and continued the wash but no further leaks so it only leaks at the very 1st part of the wash cycle.
Any ideas guys what could be wrong and how much it would cost to fix this ?
Thanks,
Raggs.

You used a small 50cc motorcycle to clear up the water. 😛 😆
Have you removed and cleaned the soap dispenser drawer, including the insides of the machine compartment, is your incoming water supply pressure quite high, if it is try to reduce the pressure by turning the taps to the machine down a little. Sometimes giving the machine a very slight backward tilt by adjusting the front feet is all that is needed.Jim.

Hi,
Jim thanks for the reply have tried what you suggest cleaning, raising front of the machine, turned down washer taps a bit as the water pressure is quite fierce on the cold feed, but still leaking 🙁 anything else i could do before calling a engineer out ?
Thanks,Raggs

I have seen the soap inlet hose on the Hoover version of these machines get clogged up under the soap drawer. you would need to remove the lid to check this, not much room in there, find the pipe and squeeze it.
Please remove the mains plug before you open the patient up.
Does it leak on the first wash even if there is no detergent in the drawer?
If so then I would try turning the taps down a little further, until you hear a steady flow rather than a gushing sound, if you have a combi boiler they often cause leaks from the drawer due to high water pressure.

Hi,
Jim thanks for the advice i removed the washer machine lid and found the problem 🙂 the small grey hose which is attached to the soap dispencer draw and the hot water feed.
Looks like part of the hose its been in direct contact with the concrete i guess counterbalance ? and over the years has worn away the rubber till a hole as appeard hence the leak see pic,
