My integrated Diplomat ADP 8242 is leaking during a wash cycle.

I took off the metal plate on the bottom and put it on a wash cycle to see what was going on inside.

From what I can tell, a small amount of water seems to be coming from a black pipe on the far left hand-side (which is attached to a white plastic pipe).

This seems to be happening as it’s filling up with water (although it takes a while for the water to actually make its way out of the bottom of the machine).

Assuming I need to replace this pipe, does anyone know if this is the kind of job I could do myself? I’m fairly competent at home repairs, but clearly no expert.

Or should I just get in an engineer?

    Thanks.

Take the side panel off amd observe – the water is probably coming from an “O” ring seal where the water matrix and the softener unit join together.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll pull it out and have a look this weekend.

    Hello,

After finally getting round to pulling out the machine and removing the side panel, I’ve realised that the leak is not coming from the left-hand side pipe afterall.

It appears to be more from the central white section at the centre/front of the machine. (I’m guessing the machine has not been sitting exactly level – hence why it looked like the leak was coming from the left hand pipe.)

I’ve got it on a cycle just now, and I’ve been peering in with a torch for the last 10 mins. However, I can’t determine exactly where the leak starts. Unfortunately it’s very difficult to see what’s going on in there.

    Any thoughts?

If I need an engineer can anyone suggest a good guy in Edinburgh?

    Thanks,

    mike
