ParticipantI have a four year old LG GR349SQF Fridgefreezer that has served us well and continues to do so. It is a two door, frost free unit with the back panel fully enclosed.
Recently the unit has started to leak water, maybe 100-200ml at a time across the kitchen floor. The water appears to emerge from rear of the freezer compartment (bottom) and drains across the bottom of the freezer compartment and through the door seal to the floor.
This of course results in the build up of an ice slab at the bottom of the freezer that requires regular demolition.
I know that some fridges need a drain hole cleared from time to time, but I have checked the fridge thoroughly and can’t find one.
Moreover, the user manual makes no mention of drainage or leakage issues in normal operation or troubleshooting.
If anyone has any light to throw on my mystery water source and how to cure it, I would be a happier man. Cheers.

Hi,
Your freezer compartment definately has a drain below the evaporator which is situated behind two bulkheads at the back of the freezer.
I think unless you are extremely competent you should not attempt a strip down of these two bulkheads.
However if your drain reservoir has frozen over then any defrosting water will exit the freezer by coming forward and creating the “ice” you see.
The easy way is to defrost your appliance is by unplugging it, leave the freezer door open for 24 hours and put down some towels to soak up the water. Ask your neighbour if they have room for your frozen stuff 😆
Whilst this will remove the ice, it hopefully will unfreeze the drain too, allowing the problem to solve itself. During the defrost the plastic “dish” shaped object on top of the compressor will be full of water too, indicating the drain has indeed freed off. Good idea to towel this excess water away leaving the collection tray, DRY.
Switch on and monitor.
If the problem returns quickly (7days) then call an engineer to sort out the blockage within the drain hose. Try our Repairs@ module.
Hope that helps.

Kevin,
Many thanks for this advice. I shall give the defrost a whirl and see if this sorts things out – before we load the freezer for Christmas 😀
Cheers
