ParticipantMy dishwasher started tripping the electricity a couple of days ago. Took the bottom panel off and the tray was full of water. Dried it off it started working again. However, there was initially a small drip, which turned into a pretty heavy leak when it got to the drain cycle. It looks like the water was coming out of the top of what I think is the pump

Can this be fixed, or is it now scrap
(Great forum by the way, very informative)

Ok. A bit more digging. It wasn’t what I originally thought. It’s a split pipe.

I’ve removed one end of it. Is there a way of just replacing the pipe or do I need the whole unit it’s attached to.
Thanks

Many thanks for that. Am I right in thinking I can’t just replace the black bit! (Sorry for the non-technical term 😀 )

No, it isn’t a spare part. Many have tried with odd off-cuts of hose and jubilee clips, most fail 🙁 .

I’ve replaced just the pipe before , you can get them on their own from some suppliers , if not so long as the pipe is of the same circumference at the joins and a similar shape , so you don’t need to bend it will be ok

I was supplied with a new ‘black cover’ but I just can’t get a seal around the small black pipe. It’s seems to run at such high pressure that it squirts out around the connection. I’ve tried it dry, with leak stop and with gasket sealer. I’m now losing the will to live.
Any suggestions.
(Also, when I took the old cover off, I had to take the magnetic armature out, as it as so tightly fitted on. I’m a a bit worried this may have damaged the motor)

Crimp rings…….. You either know how to re-fit them or you don’t. The “Knack” can be difficullt.
