Leaking Zanussi ZDI6895QX

We have a leaky dishwasher. It’s a Zanussi ZDI6895QX (serial: 22010036). Water is pouring from the left-hand side of the machine.

I’ve emptied the red tube, which was full of water, next to the water feed – an engineer said to do this if we have any problems in the future.

I’ve also shut the water supply off and run on a rinse cycle to try and drain the water but as soon as I turn the water back on and run a cycle it leaks again. When running a cycle it stops and either the red tap icon flashes or the error code AL4 appears.

The pump sounds like it’s working (usual wurring noise).

I’ve just taken the side panel off and it’s leaking from 3 small holes at the top of the side blue tank. Pics:

Any help with fault-finding will be appreciated.

I’m not an expert on dishwashers,however I think you have answered your own question.
The leak will be coming from the holes you have found in the iwms(the blue tank)

It would be the answer if those holes were not there when I bought the appliance, but they were. You can see they have a moulded flange at their opening and I assume they’re there to allow air to escape and to prevent the tank pressurising too much, not to leak water.

Do any other Zanussi dishwashers have a tank similar to this with holes in the top?

Not familiar with this model but the holes in the top of the matrix are almost
certainly safety/overflow vents.

you probably have a blockage which is preventing the water being recirculated.

Try and check the hose connections from the matrix to the sump
-also in your pic the bottom third of the matrix seems to be completely gunged up?
