left freezer door open on my hotpoint mistral plus frost free fridge freezer model number 8496 freezer was not working was advised 2 defrost for 48 hrs have done that now red light is permenently on saying high temp freezer still does not seem to be working properly any ideas cheers

left door open all day fride seems to work but freezer just getting very cold not freezing

It’s possibly either one of the thermistors has failed or the compressor is pumping weak but without seeing it and testing it’s really not possible to be definitive.

Hi noddysmate58,

I have the same model as you albeit the plus version and had the same problem with the light staying on after freezer door left open. Mine did right itself eventually, hope yours does too! 🙂
