What is the nature of the problem? Perhaps someone on here will be able to help if you post the problem you have with the appliance.

    Re: Leisure rangemaster 110

I was called out to one of these cookers,
Someone else had changed the lh oven top element but the customer was complaining that food was burning from the top.
When I visited I noticed that with the oven ON the inner element was getting red outer el cold.
I reversed the connections so outer element came on for the oven.
Three weeks later I get another call saying food is still burning from the top.
    Checked stat – ok,
    Checked base element – ok.
The replacement element looks like the correct one ( correct fixings and support bracket ).
There does seem to be a lot more heat coming from the top of the oven.
I don’t really think the wiring is wrong, it can only be the element is too powerful.
The element had pt no – 9.2035225 stamped on it, and 2?50W.

I have been told that there are two types of top element for the 110 – old and new but have not seen them together to clock the difference.

Some of the top elements I have fitted have a commoned neutral.
If whoever fitted the top element before you got there cocked it up to the extent that the inner and outer were reversed, its worth checking that they haven’t, with a commoned neutral, fed the element (left to right looking from inside the oven) live, neutral, and live( rather than live, live and then neutral on the commoned terminal). If they have done this, the inner will work as normal but the top outer element may not fully switch off via the stat because of a backfeed.

    Good Luck

tthe element is wired, from the rear of the cooker from left to right.

    White – live : Yellow – Live : Blue – Neutral : Blue – Neutral.

When the oven is ON the outer element switches off with the stat ok, inner element has no power.
Inner element only comes on when the dial is switched to grill.

One thing that disturbed me was that the lady who has been complaining about burning food said ‘ I always used to have the dial set to this’ she then turned the stat to 220. I should of said to her ‘why don’t you try turning the temp down a bit’.
She did have a point though, when the elements where on the outer was getting red hot and I could feel the heat was strong.
