Hi all- Can anyone help with some advice.

My mother has the Leisure Rangemaster 110 Gas range cooker. Recently a slight issue is plaguing it. When you light one oven, the Piezo ignition continues to fire in the other unlit oven. Turn the gas on to the other oven and the firing ends.

Having read another post on here, I read that this may be an earthing issue, and that gas before it burns contains moisture! This is all interesting stuff.

My question is, I know a Corgi person must come and have a look, but can anyone kind of have a guess at the problem, and how much it might cost the old dear/what parts might be needed! Or if anyone understands the problem.

I have already used the repairs@ service so she should be contacted soon.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi

you may well need to check that the ignition point is actually etting a flame to it or that it is clean as both these will cause it to continue to try to ignite.

    Hi Bryan.
Thanks for reply. Would this still hold true if whichever oven you light, the other oven piezo continues to fire? I mean that, if one oven had a problem wouldnt this only happen if one of the ovens was lit, but it seems to happen if either is lit?

That may not be clear, but hopefully you get what I mean!

Hi- Yes I believe you are right, as the manufacturer has told me this. I now have the part being sent to me. Seems it is a fairly common issue.

The part was £29 plus postage for anyone who ever needs one.
