    Hi

I wonder if you have any ideas as to the issue with our cooker. We inherited it with our house purchase a couple of months ago. It’s Leisure Rangemaster 55, with a gas hob, grill and oven. It looks in good condition and had just been professionally cleaned.

The hob is great (not tried the grill), however we have an issue with the oven. It doesn’t get hot enough. We have had to resort to putting it up to Gas Mark 9 and for about double the time indicated on the cooking instructions for anything to cook. Clearly there is a problem here!

Can you cast any light onto what the problem is, and how it would be fixed? We are having new central heating boiler fitted in a few weeks so will have a Corgi man on hand!

    Thanks

Certainly a thermostat issue, but seriously, leave it to your Corgi fitter.

Thanks Penguin. Thought it might be. Is it a relatively simple undertaking to fix?

We would never mess with gas – so will be certainly leaving it to the professional.

I’m not a gas engineer, so I’m not really qualified to comment on the level of complexity involved. Sorry.

Good luck, let us know how it works out.

    Regards,

    Hi
I am a gas engineer 🙂 It can be thermostat,blocked/clogged oven burner or most commonly the FSD unit. Relatively easy jobs on these appliances, well I love em 😉

As Mr P has stated, best to leave to a Corgi engineer. Always check the Corgi card of the gas engineer that you use. If they cannot provide the card or say they don’t carry it, then I would become suspicious and refuse to use them. You can always call Corgi to confirm but not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} without photo authentication.
Always check the rear of their card for what they are qualified in working on as most people assume that Corgi means they can work on any gas appliance… WRONG ❗

My guess is that Rangemaster have their own team of CORGI approved repairers you can call on for assistance! 😉

Depends, we get work from a couple of work providers aswell as direct private calls 😉 Although Rangemaster now are owned by AGA 😀
