LG 7.5kg WM1225FD noisy during part of wash cycle

Hi There, gurus,

My LG 7.5kg WM1225FD which I have hadfor several years now therefore out of warranty, has recently become very noisy during certain parts of the washing cycle. (Much noisier than previously) It doesn’t happen all the time and not when it is draining out, but during the cycle.

I regularly check the outflow filter for the usual 5p coins and other detritus, but this doesn’t seem to be the problem. I am suspecting the recycling water pump is starting to be faulty….

would this noise be a valid symptom of such a fault? Or is there some flood protection stuff in this machine that has become activated for some reason… if so it’s very effective because under the washer is not wet….

If it is the recycling water pump how easy is this to replace? I take it I have to get the door seal off and access it from the front, which is what i think I saw the repair guy do when I had a problem with the main drain pump replaced under warranty…

Any help and advice gratefully accepted..

Has no-one got any ideas?

The noise is pretty alarming!
I’ve checked both pumps and they seem ok, and there’s no water under the machine or rubbish collected in the filter.

change the recirc pump, thats the usuall culprit. might seem ok, but they tend to be noisy

I don’t see how a little magnetic pump can make such a lot of noise.

Can I replace it with a generic pump which would be about 12 quid versus the quoted lg part which for some reason costs £70?
