ParticipantGood afternoon all,
Wondering if anyone can advise on a problem with the above m/c?
When a programme is selected, and started the unit does not work.
The CLEAN FILTER light illuminates, a couple of clicks from the electronic control unit are heard, and the alarm buzzer activates after a few seconds.
The water pump kicks in, but no drum rotation.
The filters and condensor have been cleaned, and are fine.
I have tested the drive motor, and obtained 45.6 Ohms between the Red and Blue wires, with no reading (1.) between the White and Blue wires.
Does this sound like a faulty motor, and if so, would that cause this fault due to not rotating the drum?
Or should I be looking in other areas?
Best wishes,
jonty

Initial diagnosis of suspect motor proved to be correct.

Good evening,
Obviously, I cannot rule out a faulty capacitor, although the motor itself was faulty on the m/c I repaired last year.
Best wishes,

Cheers
I have fitted a capacitor, which failed to sort it.
Done some research and everybody seems to have the motor even amazon.
I would think it is a common failure.
Will go back tomorrow to do some tests on the motor.
Thanks for your swift reply.

Hi All
Just to update this post
Went back to this job and metered out the motor.
I found I could only get a resistance reading across the two outer pins rd&bu
I found I could not get a reading across all three of them.
I have since ordered a new motor and fitted it .
The readings for future guidance are as follows
Between blue and white pins 24.5 ohms
Between red and white pins 22.6 ohms
The dryer is now working fine.
Kind regards
Colly
