lg direct drive squealing when trying to spin

Hi I’ve got and LG washer that when it trys to spin makes a horrible squealing noise ? I have changed the whole drive unit from a machine I know that works but still does the same thing any ideas??

had the pumps make some horrible squealing noises over the years

if not

what did the customer complain of ?

is the drum out of true so catching door seal ( spider failure )

It’s definitely not the pump. When on the spin cycle the drum tries to turn but then make this horrible noise I know you shouldn’t do this but if you turn the drive plate it will suddenly spin ok it just can’t start the spin without help. That’s why I change the coil unit and hall sensor first off the other machine which worked ok as I thought it was the hall sensor with the error code LE

what you mean is it makes a noise whenever the drum try to turn whether is on spin or a wash cycle

yes / no ?

Check the rotar assembly the spline could be slipping where the drum sits Kai

had one about a month ago where the spline had gone. was also under 10 year motor warranty so LG paid for the parts and the customer only paid to fit. All I had to do is give the customer an invoice with the part itemised and they paid up no probs

Think you may be right although I did change the magnet rota to one with a metal spline not the plastic one on the original but still did the same thing, although I did notice when refitting the spindle moved into the tub and had to pull it back out?

shaft moving forward is normal when the bolt it tight it holds it
