Hope someone can offer some advice-

I have an LG LD-14AT2 dishwasher (out of warranty) that is no longer cleaning on the lower level. I’ve had the lower arm off and checked that its clean and no blockages. The only slight physical fault I can spot is that the ‘little spinner’ on the end of the arm is not rotating as freely as it might (also sounds a tadge gritty when turning by hand but water is flowing through freely).

I’ve set the machine to just lower level wash but I can tell (from numerous door openings) that the whole arm is only rotating slowly and the little spinny bit isn’t turning at all. Could this be a blockage somewhere further into the machine preventing the adequate water pressure needed to spin?? How do I get at the pipe to check it? Its making all the usual noises so Im assuming it’s probably not a motor fault.

Hope someone can help (again – have fixed washing machine and tumble dryer in last 18months with Mr Conways excellent advice!)

    Hi Sazzle,

Is this one of those things that you can wash the upper or lower sections on it?

If so there will be a an electronic valve that alternates the spray to the upper and lower arms in the rear of the delivery tube from the main motor. I’d suspect that was either blocked, sticking or kaput.

Fairly common failing on dishwashers with that facility.

    Hope it helps.

    K.

hooray!!! UK white goods to the rescue again 🙂
Had a poke about and have managed to sort it! (Didn’t see any significant blockage or obvious sign of fault but poking about seems to have done the trick).

    All sorted,
