Hi guys.
I have a LD-12AW2 dishwasher and having the same trouble as abergas1
No water getting in. When I run machine no water gets through the solenoid. Is their some other control switch that I should test. I have power at the pump. The water drains and it flashes that it is in wash cycle but no water enters machine. It pumps water out ok. I checked in the filters and all lines in and out??

ParticipantWayne, check the water level control system for blockages and level switch operation – it may think it’s already filled as it says it’s in the wash cycle.
Pull the plug first…….. :plug:

KeymasterThanks penguin 45
I tried what you said but nothing works.
When I press start it pumps out and then just stalls
I put a multimeter on all the wires going into the main module.
I only got a power reading on two areas. One from the main active power coming in and the other is the one that runs back to the pump. All the other wires read zero or four volts.
Very confusing. I pulled off both sides of pump and flushed it, checking for blockages. I had a look at tilt switch and checked main motor was not siezed. I would have thought that when it moved through its cycle that if their was a blockage at any point then I would still get a power reading at the module as it sends a signal to that area.
What do you think?
Oh by the way my email address is wmpat@dodo.com.au
Thanks

Hi Wayne,
I suspect that you may be receiving mail from Mr Conway in (our) morning………. It may be a case of resetting the system – I don’t have the technical information on these ones I’m afraid. A case of go for the obvious first.Patience and more will follow!
Cheers for now,

Hi Fellas
It would appear that LG have a common problem with their dishwashers, I to have a LD-12AW2 which refuses to work. The initial problem was no water getting into the machine, obvious (yeah right) fault was the solenoid. Have replaced the solenoid which was U/S but further checks shows no voltage to the solenoid, comes up with a fault code indicating no water….A wiring diagram would be great if anyone has access or some ideas on which way to go.
Thanks in anticipationMick Byrne

Hi,
Have a piece of info that may be of help to all the LG dishswahser owners that are trying to fix them….
If your machine is not getting water into it, there are 3 possible causes, the water inlet solenoid, the pressure switch or the PCB. According to the LG techs here in OZ if you have determined that the problem lies with the PCB (i.e. replaced the solenoid and pressure switch) and the machine is either a LD-12AW2 or LD-14AW1 then the board can be exchanged for FREE….LG released a tech bulletin with regard to the two models basically indicating that the PCB can fail causing the solenoid to fail. This is apparently a fault within the PCB. So if you contact your local parts supplier and question them about the PCB replacement, get them to ring LG to confirm the free replacement of the PCB. I have just recently exchanged the PCB and fixed the problem, no more washing up for me.
Be aware however that if you have replaced the solenoid with a faulty PCB still in place, the new solenoid may be buggered, so to check put a multimeter over the coil you should get around 4K ohms for a serviceable solenoid.February 18, 2005 at 9:48 am #120156Penguin45

Good info PB -wonder if we can work that on LG over here? 😀
Remember though, power off if you’re going inside……

Hi,
I have an LD-12AW2 with no water also.
I would really appreciate any documentation or hints anyone can send me.
I have 4k ohms across my solenoid, so I think thats OK, but I am not getting 240V on the solenoid wires.
regards
Gary

It’s pretty well covered in the topic Gary – time to exert your consumer rights and claim your board I suspect. Dave Conway is on holiday at the moment so we can’t send you the tech bumf, but as you have ascertained that the valve is OK, there isn’t much to argue about.
Luck and regards,
