Lg F1447 TD5 ? Motor fault

Hi our LG F1447 TD5 occasionally makes a vibrating noise from the motor. I’ve noticed when it’s washing before the drum turns to wash it reverses about15 degrees before immediately turning the opposite direction.Is this normal.thanks in advance .

its could be the sensor if there is one on this model but more than likely its the pcb. (bottom front right of the machine) If this is a direct drive you should be covered by LG’s 10 Year Guarantee.

I`ve just had the same problem and cured my mates by replacing the Hall sensor. This is the part at about 6 o/clock below the rotor and is clipped on to the stator field coil from behind. You have to remove the 17mm rotor bolt which is locktited then the rotor can be pulled off-check the magnets for any cracks, then remove the the 10mm stator bolts and the 2 wiring loom self tappers and very carefully lower the stator coil. There are two sets of terminals 1 is for the motor winding and the other goes to a white plastic affair with what looks like a black potting filler and that part is the Hall Sensor. Before you unclip it mark its location with a marker pen so you replace it with the new one in exactly the same position. Part should be around £15. Part number on the machine I had for the same model was 6501kw2001a but check as there is another Hall sensor that looks the same but isn`t. Tip before romoving the rotor I marked its position relative to the shaft it pulls away from because it occured to me that it might be balanced realitive to the drum, in other words to make sure everything is how you found it on reassembly.
