    Folks,

My LG F1447TD5 DirectDrive 8kg was smelling pretty mouldy. I did the soda/bleach/vinegar things that are recommended elsewhere. It smelt better after the wash but there was still a slight lingering smell of mildew. I’ve tracked it to the pipe that drains from the draw. With the draw out I can get my fingers into the pipe and there is standing water about 2 inches down. This is providing moisture for the mildew to grow back after any treatment.

    Is this standing water normal?

If not, what fault does it point to?

If yes, what can I do to stop the mildew forming between washes?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi,no that pipe should not have “standing water”it’s blocked.
2 options, either clean the pipe in situ or
Unplug, take off top and disconnect the pipe and clean throughly.

Any suggestions for in situ cleaning that will get down the pipe?
