ParticipantHi All
Went to fit a genuine new element to this unit today because the terminal had snapped off of the old one and found that it had been worn through on the drum, it is quite a long element and I can not see any form of holder/support for the front end so it wants to flip up and catch the drum, my suspicion is that there should be a metal bracket that it slides through mounted in the front half of the tub but I couldn’t find any remains of one and it doesn’t show on any parts diagram, the images that are available for the front half tub don’t seem to show this part although the odd one does.
Should it have a bracket and if so what is the part no that I need to order.
Thank you
Jem

Drum spider and bearings are fine, the drum is running in the correct position.
If I press down gently on the terminals at the back of the element then you can feel and hear the front lift up and touch the drum – it’s such a long element that I cant believe that it would be unsupported.Jem

have you checked the sump hose dont know with LG but some of them are just a bent bit of wire small enough to land in the sump hose

I stripped the sump and pump down but couldn’t find anything, from looking at the tub through the element hole I suspect that it should be a metal loop that goes round the element which would then be hooked under plastic tabs at each end but couldn’t find any traces of anything.
