    Hiyas,
Got one of these on the go. Model is GR-S592QVC.
Freezer is icing up and customer has to manually defrost.
Defrost heater meters OK. There are two small components cable tied to
the top left of the evaporator, near the heater element, and four wires running back to a 4 way plug.
Any ideas on this fault? Can’t identify these components. Any ideas? Part numbers would be a bonus.

    Thanks
    Brian

    Hi Brian

they are thermal overloads and defrost terminators.

Thanks for that. I did say to technical that I thought they were a defrost sensor and thermal fuse so not far off the mark. Not sure which is which but one of them reads open circuit, and no idea if this is correct or not. They can’t find these parts on the LG schematics / web site.
Would these components be the cause of the problem? I’m pretty sure this machine isn’t doing a defrost hence the build up of ice which eventually blocks cold air to the fridge section.
I hate having to use best guess but I’ve no information whatsover on LG refrigeration so no way of getting part numbers myself, other than asking here 🙂

    Thanks
    Brian
