I have a customer who owns a side by side american style LG fridge freezer model GR-L206CVQA, which has no LCD display, only incremental lights to indicate the temperature settings for each compartment. The fridge setting lights independently scroll through from the warmest indication (1 light) to the coldest indication (5 lights) with the corresponding audible dings. This happens continually with the temperatures remaining normal. I thought that it was giving me an error code but I have tried the test mode which shows normal opperation. Does anyone have any ideas.

The buttons on the display PCB are sticking or the display PCB may be faulty.

    Hi Graham
I read your thread re LG fridge/freezer GR-L206CPQA and have the same problem with mine. Have been advised to try changing the circuit board but unfortunately LG no longer produce that particular PCB. Can you please let me know how you managed to sort your customer’s machine out as the constant dinging is driving me nuts and I can’t afford to replace the fridge/freezer at present.
    Many thanks Ann

    The buttons may be sticking.

If it has a child lock setting set to the temperature you require then put the child lock on.

I checked out your suggestion but no joy. Unfortunately Samurai this model of fridge freezer doesn’t have anything as sophisticated as a child lock, just a simple gauge showing temperature range between 1-5. The function display board does not appear to be sticking.
    Thanks for your input
