I have the misfortune to own a LG GRB 207DVZA American style fridge freezer. The fridge is working fine but the freezer will only go down to -10. The fan is working, we’ve tried switching it off for 24 hours and adjusting freezer temp on the control panel to no avail. I’m trying to be polite, but it’s difficult as this thing is only 2 years old.

So, any ideas? And do I have much chance of getting spare parts or should I just cut my losses (and never buy another LG)

Spares shouldn’t be a huge problem Tetrafin although not as easy as some.

I would suggest an engineer calls to check this for you to be honest before condemning the unit, it may be something quite straightforward. Try Repairs@ for one 🙂

    Thanks Dave,

but I’ve tried a local engineer and one off this site. Am told that LG only repairable through the one company they will supply spares to. So they can charge what they like I suppose as they have a monopoly. I’m told Samsung are the same. Guess what I won’t be buying again.

I reckon I’m the one you spoke to today.

LG have no link to independents for any technical help at all. There tech deptarment is unhelpful and quite frankly a nightmare to try to reason with.
Shame really that they take this stance. But if I am to take on a repair I believe my service should be 1st class. My company has won national awards for service (TEQ Awards) for 4 of the last 5 years, I won’t touch LG products that have no technical support.

    Kevin
