Hi – I read something in this forum about my washing machine which was showing OE code after I stupidly let my husband put on a wash – which was too heavy I guess. It stopped and I had to empty the water with a cup – it wouldn’t spin or pump. anyway – i did as suggested in the forum – cleared the filter at the front left hand side … but it still won’t perform pump and stops with 3 minutes left on the spin cycle ..

Any suggestions please – much appreciated.

And yes … the manual on top turned out to be for the dishwasher and the one on top of the dishwasher for the boiler .. so I’m still looking. 😉

    thanks

With the machine empty and the filter cover removed, select a spin or drain programme. Hands and knees, check whether the impellor is actually running or not. If it does not run, pull the plug and check for blockages/objects back at the impellor – a torch is useful at this point. 5p’s, elastic bands, hair grips are all capable of getting through the filter and will stop the pump.

If all is clear, it may well be that the pump has failed. An engineer may be your best course of action, or a replacement can be ordered through spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk .

thanks for the reply … I have emptied the water through the filter 3 times now – this last time the water was actually clean – previously it was hideous and stunk ! BUT before I do it again – is there a knack to catching the water as it flows out ? My kitchen is turning into a swimming pool …

Have had lots of pennies out – in fact in four years this is the first time – so not doing too bad.. so hopefully will try once more before I call someone.

    many thanks

    Emma
