LG machine makes noise like popcorn popping

Only during wash cycle, and keeps happening even when the drum isn’t turning. Starts soon as wash starts, but after 10 mins or so only happens intermittently, so I’m wandering if it’s something to do with the heater? There’s only a cold water feed so would prob have to spend that amount of time heating the water to begin with.

It’s a WD-12311RD. It still seems to function OK, I’m just worried it might be a sign it’s about to break. Here’s a video of the noise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-Ue_1Gr-Qk

Have you checked that there’s nothing stuck in the pump/s as that sounds as if there’s something stuck in there that’s rattling around or, a faulty pump.

Sounds possible, I will look into that. Any other suggestions welcome, might as well check all possibilities at once!

Is this the machine with a dual pump,one if which feeds water to the top of the door seal? If so then it could be something lodged inside there?

Great minds. Or fools. 😉

Yeah it’s a dual pump one so likely something in there or the recirculation pump is fragged. Fits with the timing and so on.
