LG SxS FR/FRZ GWL207 Leaking

Hi All

I’ve a 3 year old GWL207 LG side x side fridge/freezer thats leaking from hole in water supply pipe to dispenser at the bottom hinge. On removing front control panel and funnel asy all i can access is the rubber water spout, there does not seem to be any access to the white plastic pipe thats running through the freezer door to change or repair it…… Has anyone come accross this…. Or is it foamed in and I require complete door asy….

If it is leaking have you checked the fitting under the kick plate at the front.

If it is leaking from the pipe it self near the bottom of the door and it is too short to join with a push fit connector then a new door is required as the pipe is foamed in.

The most likely place for a leak is the connector at the bottom the pipe can sometimes break as it enters the connector near the protection spring over the pipe on the more recent models.

Thanks Bob… Its leaking from the pipe as it enters the bottom hinge even though it was protected by metal spring, the pipe was stretched too tight so it rubbed through and piddles every time we take water from the door…May chance repair by slipping a piece of slightly larger pipe over it and sealing it in and try to give it some slack….Thanks again

Are there any other suggestions ? My 8 year old LG SXS L207 has exactly the same problem, the dispenser water pipe fractured just where it exits the freezer door and too short to slip a repair fitting on. Seems to me that if I could get the inside door panel off (or even prized it open for the bottom 6 inches) I could slip a fitting on the pipe and extend it to where it has a coupling under the centre of the door.

Any suggestions ?
