I have an ageing LG tumble dryer which has given great service. In its lifetime I have replaced the motor capacitor and at another time the motor assembly, not because the motor had failed but because the bearing on the belt pully wheel had worn away!
Anyway I have another problem in that it switches itself off sometimes. You can switch it back on and away it goes again. Another thing it does is when its not being used it will intermittently operate the condensate pump, or the buzzer will sound or the LEDs on the front panel will flash and flicker. The only way to stop this is to power it off at the wall.
This fault appeared to start after one occassion where the high level water alarm did not operate and I found the container had overflowen every where. I sripped the machine down and dried the whole thing out. I thought that water must have got into the main control board but I’ve had that off and it’s perfectly dry. Do you think it could be a faulty main board or the board that contains the LED and main control Knob?
