ParticipantHi guys,
I’ve been having a problem with my Condenser Tumble dryer this last week. The drain pump has been noisy/rattly and tumble dryer has been displaying “Empty Water”!
I’ve stripped the tumble dryer down to look for a pump but cannot see it except for a rectangular block with black drain tube and 2 violet sensor wires and 2 blue pump wires(confirmed on wiring diagram). I assume the pump is submerged in a sump.
My question is, how easy is it to replace the pump? Does it just clip in? Itlooks awkward due to fan/drum motor being in the way.
I get no water exiting the drain tube when I hear the pump pumping and I’ve blown down the tube and there is no blockage.Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Graham 🙂

So 32 views and no LG service engineers who can assist!
Cheers peeps 🙁
I suppose I need to bite the bullet, purchase the replacement non original pump and fit and hopefully resolve 😕

Update,
My new pump arrived yesterday so I decided to fit last night. Here is what I did
1 – Isolate electrical supply.
2 – Remove Top cover after unscrewing 2 screws ar rear.
3 – Looking at front of tumble dryer remove Right Hand Side cover after removing 2 top and 3 rear screws.
4 – I used an inspection mirror to look under the drum and past the drum/fan motor. This revealed 2 screws securing the plastic pump mounting plate.I removed the 2 screws.
5 – I unplugged 2 blue pump wires and 2 violet high water level sensor wires.
6 – I lifted the pump and mounting plate from the sump.
7 – I used a pair or pliers to squeeze spring clip on the drain hose and remove from the pump water outlet.
8 – I unclipped the old pump from the mounting plate and clipped in the new pump to the mounting plate.
9 – Whilst this was all removed I cleaned out the sump with a wet and dry vac and wiped down to remove debris. I also cleaned the probes of the pump high water level sensor.
10 – I refitted all in reverse order. After putting the tumble dryer back into position and re-instating power, I tested operation with a half load.
The dryer is now working perfectly and has dried 3 successful full loads since. 😀Regards
Graham
