ParticipantHave LG TDC70045E which customer says is displaying “EHE” about every other load. She has been living with it like this for some time apparently.
Anybody know what it means? Have read that capacitors are favourite but would one go intermittent?

Hi Mike: Capacitors don’t as such go intermittent, what you often find though is that 1 of the connecting legs goes dry joint to the PCB or becomes loose inside the case.

I think ehe is a heater fault .
Duff heater or Wet damp heater .
I would load your bike up with your meter and hairdryer 😉 and check for blockages .February 22, 2011 at 9:17 pm #345412leavemetogetonwithit

Thanks. I was thinking more of motor capacitor. Apparently, from what I’ve read on here, they’re a bit under-rated on these and an original 8uF should be replaced by a 10uF. But is EHE code anything to do with that? My intuition would be that it stood for a heating sensor getting a wrong signal. But come to think of it, a stalled motor could cause that.
Just seen your post, rolf. Thanks for that. Don’t have a hairdryer but will take my paintstripper and hold it at a distance.

Mike what I love about you is that you have a solution for everything .
I have this picture of you being like Wallace from Wallace and Gromit . Your a born inventor.
Would you mind if I called you Wallace. 😆February 22, 2011 at 9:40 pm #345414Specialist01269

I did inherit the inventiveness. My old man got second in a Daily Mirror invention competition in the 1950’s for a mod to carburettor to make it more fuel efficient. Nobody was interested in it commercially at the time though :rolls: .Specialist01269 wrote:moonlighting as a decorator 😆
Ah, times are hard 🙁

You are certainly a chip of the old block not only in your inventive ways but frugal ones to. 😉

Just to round this off. Went to it a couple of weeks ago. It was about three miles away, in an isolated village, uphill most of the way. The ride seemed to go much easier than I had anticipated and I thought either I’m getting fitter or these hills aren’t so bad after all. Got to the house and leant my bike against the wall and it was then I noticed that I hadn’t picked up my tool panniers 😳 .
Luckily I had the essentials in my shoulder bag and borrowed a table knife to lever off the stuck heater cover, a torch and a hairdryer and managed to complete the job. Not sure what customer made of my, “travelling light” mode but she was pleased to get it fixed.
Just like a Hotpoint, water getting into the fan and getting sprayed onto element (where there was also a bra-wire) due to bit of crud in duct to pump.
So ten points for Grommit, er I mean Rolf :D.
