    LG Washer Dryer.
    F1480RD6.
    111KWZAQ957.

Customer complains of poor drying results. Drying element, fan and airflow/chamber-to-tub all checked and fine. Everything worked on ‘Timed dry’ whilst I was there.

Asked customer to try machine on timed dry and report back. They said it worked perfectly. But, when trying an automatic program, again, dry results were poor.

This fault must be to do with a sensor, right? Does anyone have experience of this fault, please?

    Many thanks.

I’ve scouted the parts available for this machine at connectios and can only find thermisters.

But, how does the automatic drying sense what moisture is in the load? I understand how tumble dryers do this, the usually have some carbon brushes passing a current between two parts of the insulated drum (when clothing is wet it conducts. Once the load is dry, the system goes open circuit and the machine knows to stop).

Couldn’t locate any system like this on the washer dryer though?

Does any one have a circuit diagram for this one please? Thanks.

temperature change can be used as a measure of dryness

as the heat leaves the element its temperature is measured. this heat is used to evaporate water off wet clothes which lowers its temp and the temp difference is a product of how wet items are

this is not the same model but might give you an insight as its built by LG
