LG Washer Dryer,
FWV796WTS,

Intermittent faults:
1.) Whilst off, the machine doesn’t respond to pressing the ‘power on’ button.
2.) The LCD Display will often go blank whilst a program is running.

Customer says that the not powering on fault occurs more frequently when using the machine for consecutive washes. i.e, it finishes the first wash, and wont power on to start the second wash. If the machine is left for a period of time, its more likely to respond to the power on button.

When the LCD display goes blank, the machine continues to run unaffected.

Customer has had the same faults when using a different plug socket.

Presumably a module fault, question is which one?

I’ve had issues in the past, where replacing the power module did not cure a ‘wont power on’ fault – LG Engineer subsequently changed all modules and fault was cured.

Any and all help/ideas appreciated, cheers

that’s the problem with linked board you can never say with any certainty which is causing the fault

Doesn’t look like the parts are easily available. Connect D and the LG links only show a handful of parts 🙁

A couple of thoughts:
Is the sound enabled? if not then could it be that the machine is responding but just not showing any display? You could try enabling the sound to prove/disprove this.

When the display fails during a wash does the machine complete the program? If it does then it is more likley to be a display module failure.
